Colonel Ryan Shadle graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1998 with a BS in History and was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps. He was designated a Naval Aviator in 2000 and assigned as a CH-46E pilot.
Colonel Shadle’s operational assignments include HMM-263, deploying twice with the 24th MEU (Kosovo, Djibouti, Operation Iraqi Freedom); HMM-365, deploying with the 24th MEU (Jordan, Djibouti, Pakistan, Kuwait, Lebanon); HMM-163 deploying with the 13th MEU (Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Djibouti, Jordan); Air Officer / Dep G-3 3d Marine Division.
Colonel Shadle has served as a CH-46E weapons and tactics instructor at Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One in Yuma, AZ and as a Marine One pilot at Marine Helicopter Squadron One in Quantico, VA. He held command of Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron Two in Cherry Point, NC.
Colonel Shadle graduated from the U.S. Army War College in 2019 with a Master of Strategic Studies and then completed a tour on the Joint Staff as Assistant Deputy Director of Operations / Presidential Strike Advisor.
Colonel Shadle has flown over 4,000 military flight hours in multiple airframes. His awards include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with Gold Star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Gold Star, and Air Medal with Numeral 8.
Col Shadle has been married to Janice (Falcone) Shadle since 2005.
